Our Wedding

Kristen and Michael’s story is a reminder that some things are simply meant to be, just not always on our timeline. As if connected by an invisible string... they grew up in the same town, walked the same high school hallways, and shared many of the same friends, yet somehow never truly crossed paths until fourteen years later. A simple invitation from Kristen’s dad, Joe, led her to the event that changed everything. From the moment they met, there was an ease between them, like picking up a conversation that had been waiting years to begin. What started as a connection quickly deepened into something undeniable. They bonded over what matters most: health, family, snowy days on the slopes, time on the water, creativity, ambition, and a shared love of learning, while finding the most joy in the simplest moments: long walks with their dogs, time in nature, tea time on the couch and truly appreciating it all. Together, they’ve built a life rooted in gratitude, the kind found in quiet mornings and everyday moments. Today, they call Miller Place home with their two dogs, Maggie and Grady, and couldn’t feel more grateful to be celebrating this next chapter surrounded by all of the people they love most.

Dress Code

There is no minimum night stay. Please use the link to reserve your room at the wedding rate! There will be a shuttle provided from the Hilton Garden Inn to the wedding and back. Located on the State University of New York at Stony Brook campus, this Hilton Garden offers on-site dining at the Northern Coast Kitchen &amp; Cocktails and there is an on-site lounge. Free WiFi is also provided. Each room at the Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook includes a flat-screen cable TV and refrigerator. A microwave is also supplied in each room. Guests staying at the Stony Brook Hilton Garden Inn can exercise at the fitness center or swim in the indoor pool. There is also a business center. Stony Brook Beach is 3 mi away and Long Beach Town Park is 9.5 mi away from the hotel.

Located on the water in the heart of Port Jefferson village, Danfords Hotel &amp; Marina features an on-site spa and wellness center as well as an on-site seafood restaurant. WiFi access is provided free of charge. A flat-screen TV is featured in each room at the hotel, which also provides a coffee machine and a desk for guest convenience. Select rooms feature a seating area and many rooms offer a balcony. Guests can dock their boat at the private marina, located on site. A meeting facilities are also available for guest use, and room service is offered. The Port Jefferson Train Station is 1.4 mi from Danfords Hotel &amp; Marina. Stony Brook University is 8 minutes’ drive away.
